Virtual Project Judging Information

Today until July 17 (extended deadline) 4-H members will have the opportunity to submit videos so their 4-H projects can be judged virtually. We are excited to pilot Flipgrid, an educational tool for you to upload videos and cloud-based slides/documents for judges to view and place.

There are several tools to help you with this process.  PLEASE review all links and documents below BEFORE you get started.

Before you get too nervous or overwhelmed with this process, please know that the Extension Office and your 4-H Advisors and Teen Leaders, all Support Team Members, are here to help you navigate this process. Just remember… we are all learning something new this year!  We are also planning a few Zoom help sessions throughout the process.  Links to these sessions will be sent to your 4-H email address and posted on social media. Relax and have fun developing your videos! If you don’t know where to start, there are a couple 4-H members that have worked to prepare example videos as creative idea starters!  You can find these helpful videos with the code wc4hjudging.
For those members that find video development too overwhelming, you can always complete your project with a 4-H Advisor interview either by Zoom or a socially distanced in-person meeting after July 6 but before July 20. Just know that you cannot be considered for county awards with this option.
We encourage you to try Flipgrid. Judges will be reviewing all projects areas (livestock, miscellaneous, clothing and nutrition) after the 17, with an announcement of Project Winners and Premiere Livestock Interviewer to follow. Many of the winning videos will be highlighted via social media in August! Members can also participate in the “Ohio 4-H Online Showcase of Projects.”  This event will be open to all members and is noncompetitive.  Stay tuned for more details.

Good Luck and start preparing for your project video!
