Biography: 

Susan provides interim leadership to the Extension Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) program. FCS empowers Ohioans with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to make healthy choices – thus creating healthy communities, healthy finances and healthy relationships. FCS professionals provide reliable, evidence-based information to encourage and empower people to adopt practices and behaviors to improve their finances, build more positive relationships with friends and family, and embrace healthier lifestyles.

Susan also provides oversight for the EFNEP (Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program), which is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture's Institute of Food and Agriculture. The primary goal of EFNEP is to help limited-resource families and youth gain knowledge and skills to improve their diets, stretch their food dollars, handle food safely, and increase physical activity.

ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
She brings deep passion, steadfast dedication, and extensive experience in building community partnerships to this statewide leadership role. Susan has spent more than 30 years with Ohio State University Extension, working in both urban and rural counties. Throughout her career, she has authored numerous journal articles and presented on FCS topics at national and international conferences in addition to her community outreach. She also has held a variety of leadership positions within Extension, including county director, SNAP-Ed supervisor, EFNEP supervisor, and most recently as CFAES Faculty Advisory Council chair.
