About Wood County Extension
Our mission engaging people to strengthen their lives and communities through research-based educational programming. The Wood County office is one of the many OSU Extension offices from across the state that bring the reseach and resources of The Ohio State Unversity to your front door.
Office Hours and Location
The OSU Extension Office of Wood County is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday.

Our address is 639 S. Dungridge Road, Suite 1, Bowling Green, OH 43402.
Directions: from Exit 181 (Wooster Street) off I-75 go east 1/8 mile to Dunbridge Rd.
Turn right and proceed south approximately 1/4 mile.
Ours is the first building on the left. It has a large white cupola on top.
Parking and an entrance are in back.
Program Areas
Agriculture & Natural Resources
OSU Extension's Agriculture and Natural Resources educators help farmers, gardeners, landowners and businesses.
We help farmers:

Strengthen their businesses, adopt new technology, and improve efficiency while protecting the environment
We help landowners:
-
Manage woodlands and protect streams and watersheds
In our Horticultre Program we work with the green industries, from turf grass management to landscape and nursery companies. In addition, we train Master Gardeners who in turn extend research-based yard and garden information to Ohioans.
4-H is a community of young people nationwide who learn about leadership, citizenship and life skills. Participants include:
- Over xxx Wood County youth and over 300,000 young people statewide, ages 5 to 19
- xx local and 32,000 statewide volunteers donating time, energies and talents to work with young people annually
4-H offers over 200 4-H projects to complete and showcase at the Wood County Fair. 4-Hers may also be invited to take their project to compete at the Ohio State Fair. Youth Development includes programs such as CarTeens, School Enrichment and Summer Day Camps.
Family and Consumer Sciences professionals help build strong families. We offer programs and information in:
- Parenting and Family life
- Adult development and aging
- Balancing life, jobs and families and health
- Money management and preparation for retirement
We also offer a Family Nutrition Program which provides information in nutrition and food safety.
Community Development educators and specialists enhance communities by working with:
- Business community
- Current and emerging community leaders
- Elected and appointed officials
We provide perspectives to residents and leaders regarding local development issues, increase the knowledge base for individual and community decisions, develop clientele skills necessary to help achieve their individual and community goals, and help create an inclusive decision-making environment.
